The Velp Scientifica F30530204 COEX is a cold extractor used to perform preliminary defatting of the sample prior to fiber determination with the FIWE or FIWE Advance. Defatting is a mandatory step for all feed samples with high-fat content. If the fatty matter content is between 5 and 10%, extraction is recommended, but if it is more than 10% extraction is mandatory.

The COEX is easy to use and convenient; all the reagents can be added through the same channel. The solvent acts directly on the sample. The highly efficient pump aspirates and removes the fatty component which is collected in a dedicated waste tank/bottle.

The COEX ensures rapid fat extraction directly into the same glass crucibles used by the FIWE and FIWE Advance whenever the fat content of the feed sample is high and needs to be reduced to less than 1%. The crucible containing the defatted sample is transferred directly to the FIWE and FIWE Advance analyzer eliminating possible errors due to sampling transfer.
