Three-Phase AC Power Source (320Vrms/12kVA/550Hz/400V Input)
Keysight’s AC6900 Series AC power sources provide a complete AC and DC power solution by combining the capabilities of a multimeter, harmonic analyzer, and power analyzer in one instrument. You can easily produce DC power, either alone or as a DC offset to an AC waveform, in a compact form factor.
The increasing demand for testing avionics devices such as air traffic management systems, sensors, and crewless aircraft systems demands a sophisticated AC and DC power solution. Test system designers constantly look for ways to optimize their avionic electronic systems.
A compact, high-performance AC power source with DC capability is ideal for achieving this goal. An avionics test software suite will help to accelerate pre-compliance testing that meets commercial and military standards.
Since your product must operate in the real world of unpredictable AC power, you must design and verify its operation under a wide range of AC power inputs. For example, brownouts, dropouts, sags, and other irregularities are uncommon in many industries today.
You need to test using the compliance tests of the country where you plan to sell the product to ensure it meets their regulatory requirements for line voltages and frequencies.
The AC6900 Series AC power sources have the features to easily achieve your test goals in either a research and development environment or on the manufacturing test floor.
The five-inch LCD color display shows the main measurements for all phases simultaneously. The intuitive interface minimizes your team’s learning curve while making measurements. The multiple IO connectivity – LXI-LAN, USB, and GPIB (sold separately) provides flexible synchronization.
Several Versions Available
See the table below for a comparison of the different AC6900 series options. The H and L designations at the end of the model number indicate high and low frequency models.
| Voltage | Current | Power | Frequency | |
| AC6903H | 320V | 30A | 3kVA | 5000 Hz |
| AC6903L | 320V | 30A | 3kVA | 550 Hz |
| AC6906H | 320V | 60A | 6kVA | 5000 Hz |
| AC6906L | 320V | 60A | 6kVA | 550 Hz |
| AC6912H | 320V | 120A | 12kVA | 5000 Hz |
| AC6912L | 320V | 120A | 12kVA | 550 Hz |
| AC6918H | 320V | 180A | 18kVA | 5000 Hz |
| AC6918L | 320V | 180A | 18kVA | 550 Hz |
Please note: Voltage figures are for AC mode with the voltage output set to the high range. Current figures are values for single-phase operation with the voltage output set to the low range. Power figures are for single- and three-phase operation. See specification sheet for details on other wiring and settings scenarios. All figures are maximum values.
Models AC6906, AC6912, and AC6918 require a selection of either 200-230V/4-wire input or 380-480V/5-wire input. These choices are denoted as 200 and 400, respectively; these are three-phase inputs. Model AC6903 requires a single-phase 3-wire input. Power cords are not supplied.

Extensive Measurement Capabilities
- Simulate power supply line errors by stopping the output (to simulate power failures) and decreasing and increasing the voltage (to simulate voltage dips and pops).
- Program and save output sequences to execute steps that set parameters such as voltage, frequency, and time. When a sequence is executed (run), its steps are executed in order, starting with the specified starting step.
- Perform harmonic analysis on the output voltage and output current. The analyzed harmonic varies depending on the output frequency.
- Configure waveform using the simulator function. Set parameters such as voltage regulation, slope time, return time, and number of cycles to run.
Protection Against Load Damage
- The instrument lets you limit the allowable values for the voltage offset.
- Limits can also be placed on the allowable current that flows through the load. The limit settings include maximum current, positive peak current, and negative peak current limits.
- The positive and negative peak current limits instantly limit the peak output currents based on the limit settings. The maximum current limit operates on the rms value of the output current.

IO Connectivity (Some interfaces sold separately)
The following interfaces are available for external communication with the AC6900 series; they will be located on the rear of the unit. These interfaces permit monitoring and control of the instrument with external signals. Keysight IO Libraries may be required for certain functionality.
The interfaces are pictured from top to bottom:
- LXI-LAN (Standard)
- USB (Standard)
- Digital (Optional, part AC69DIGU)
- Analog (Optional, part AC69ALGU)
- GPIB (Optional, part AC69GPBU)
