The R&S Cable Rider ZPH has all the essential basic measurement capabilities required for installing and maintaining antenna systems in the field. Its unique features ensure fast and efficient cable and antenna measurements and spectrum analysis. Two different R&S ZPH models are available to suit different needs, a pure one-port cable and antenna analyzer and a two-port model with additional spectrum analysis and tracking generator features.

Fast operation with the R&S Cable Rider ZPH

The R&S Cable Rider ZPH boots up in less than 15 seconds and only needs 1 minute to warm up and can therefore begin measurement almost instantly.

The analyzer’s extremely fast measurements are the best in its class. The configuration overview menu allows you to view and change all parameter settings with just one keystroke. The fast synthesizers in the analyzer speed up measurements to 0.3 miliseconds per point.

Efficient operation with the R&S Cable Rider ZPH

Downtime-free operation is efficient operation. With a single full charge, the R&S Cable Rider ZPH lasts an entire working day without needing to recharge or change the batteries. If tasks require additional options, these can be purchased and activated without needing to send the analyzer to the service lab for an upgrade or recalibration.

Key capabilities for base station installation

All R&S Cable Rider ZPH models share the same cable and antenna testing DNA: Distance-to-fault, VSWR and one port cable loss measurement is supported, as well as phase and smith chart displays of the respective measurements.

Additional features for spectrum analysis

In many cases, a field engineer needs multiple instruments to complete his tasks: a cable and antenna analyzer, a spectrum analyzer, a signal generator and a bias source. All of these instruments now combine into one powerful box with the additional features of R&S Cable Rider ZPH Combi Analyzer (model .12.) The spectrum analyzer model also contains further measurement features, such as interference analysis and signal strength mapping.

One-step calibration

Calibration is only recommended if there are additional cables or adapters connected in between the analyzer and the device under test (DUT). This eliminates any influences on the measurement.

For convenient, one-step calibration, the R&S ZN-Z103 calibration unit automatically switches internally between OPEN, SHORT and LOAD. This saves time and eliminates the hassle of physically changing the different calibration standards in the field.

Portability

Weighs only 2.5 kg. With its ergonomic design, the R&S Cable Rider ZPH has a small form factor and is lightweight. It comes with a convenient side strap to support your hand during the short measurement period. For hands-free operation, the holster (R&S HA-Z322) comes with a harness that is carefully designed to equally distribute the weight around the body.

Durability

The R&S Cable Rider ZPH will operate for an entire working day on a single charge. Simply charge it for approximately 4 hours and the lithium-ion battery pack will last up to 9 hours. The advantages of long battery life are obvious: the weight of an extra battery can be saved when climbing up a mast or tower and there’s no frustration due to the battery running out during a measurement.
