Tektronix 4-STARTER-PER – Starter Serial Trigger and Analysis and AFG Bundle for 4 Series MSO

• Adds I2C, SPI, RS-232/422/UART serial trigger and analysis, and an AFG to a 4 Series MSO
• Equivalent to adding -AFG, -SRCOMP and -SREMBD options
• Option can be applied to MSO44 and MSO46 models
• Model and serial number required if upgrading an existing unit
• This upgrade will be tied to the serial number of a single oscilloscope

This option adds the functionality listed below to a 4 Series MSO.

I2C

Trigger on Start, Repeated Start, Stop, Missing ACK, Address (7 or 10 bit), Data, or Address and Data on I2C buses up to 10 Mb/s

SPI

Trigger on Slave Select, Idle Time, or Data (1-16 words) on SPI buses up to 20 Mb/s

RS-232/422/UART

Trigger on Start Bit, End of Packet, Data, and Parity Error up to 15 Mb/s

AFG

Integrated arbitrary/function generator, perfect for simulating sensor signals within a design or adding noise to signals to perform margin testing. The integrated function generator provides output of predefined waveforms up to 50 MHz for sine, square, pulse, ramp/triangle, DC, noise, sin(x)/x (Sinc), Gaussian, Lorentz, exponential rise/fall, Haversine and cardiac. The AFG can load waveform records up to 128 k points in size from an internal file location or a USB mass storage device. The AFG feature is compatible with Tektronix’ ArbExpress PC-based waveform creation and editing software, making creation of complex waveforms fast and easy.

If you are purchasing this option to upgrade a unit that you already own, please provide the instrument model and serial number at purchase time. This may be done using the order notes box on step 2 of the online checkout process. If placing a phone order, please reply to the order confirmation email with the model and serial number. If using a purchase order, please provide the information on the PO.

The model and serial number will be sent to the manufacturer to generate a unique software option key used to upgrade the instrument. That key will be emailed to you. You will then enter the key using your instrument’s virtual keyboard. See linked instructions in the Manuals/Guides section of this webpage for further details.
