Description

Bird SK-4500-TC
- Frequency range: 1 MHz to 4500 MHz
- Frequency resolution: 1 kHz
- Test RF cables and antennas at the frequency of operation
- Locate RF cable, connector and antenna problems at the source
4.5 GHz Handheld Cable and Antenna Analyzer
Get the most out of your communication networks with SiteHawk. This powerful device offers critical coverage and a wide frequency range, ensuring you have the ability to find any discrepancies in your cables and connectors.
Discontinuities can be a real problem and cause significant reflections by damaged cables, loose or improperly installed connectors, and environmental factors. With Bird’s DTF (Distance to Fault) mode, SiteHawk finds the exact location of the problem “in true distance units”.
Eliminate wasted time swapping out components until you determine the issue. Save critical time, components, and money by correctly identifying issues the first time to efficiently direct vital resources to implement solutions.
Several versions available
The following is an overview of SiteHawk analyzers. Bird offers this product covering multiple frequency ranges, as well as test kits containing the analyzer, a power sensor, and additional accessories.
Base models are available in 4.5 or 6 GHz and include a hard and soft case, cables, calibration standards, and more. Part numbers are as follows:
- SK-4500-TC – 1 MHz to 4.5 GHz
- SK-6000-TC – 1 MHz to 6 GHz
Bird also offers its 7003A001 series of test kits which include the analyzer and several additional accessories, including a power sensor. The chart below indicates which analyzer and power sensor are included, as well as the frequency and power range covered by the sensor.
Kits include the following:
- Bird SiteHawk, (SK-4500-TC or SK-6000-TC)
- 25W RF termination (25-T-MN)
- Calibration combo (SK-CAL-MN-C6)
- Adapter kit (4240-401)
- 10′ RF cable (RG142)
- Hard Carrying Case
- Power sensor (see chart below, not included with all packages)
Please see the “In the Box” section of that item’s page for detailed information on exact contents of that particular package.

Power Meter Application
SiteHawk Analyzers include the Bird RF Meter Application. The Bird RF Meter is an Android application designed to work with a wide variety of Bird Power Sensors. To measure transmitter power, connect an external power sensor to the SiteHawk. Power measurements verify and monitor the condition of a transmitter system.
Examples of an antenna frequency response sweep in return loss and VSWR
The SiteHawk can be easily used for an antenna frequency response sweep, using markers and a limit line allow for a fast and accurate reading. Nothing has been changed in each sweep except for the Mode from Return Loss to SWR.
Distance to fault
The SiteHawk can also be for Distance to Fault (DTF) measurements which shows the location of any problems in the antenna system. This is shown in either feet or meters from the cable end connected to the SiteHawk.
The trace can display the entire length (distance) of the cable system being measured or a smaller portion of the length for better detail. It is very helpful to have a diagram of your system so that components can be identified, although obtaining such a diagram will not always be possible.
