The Ersa SOLDER SMART works with the powerful i-TOOL soldering iron, proven thousands of times in the electronics industry. Its 150 watts of heating power enables efficient processes and a stable temperature, as well as the use of tips ranging from 0.4 to 5.0mm.

The SOLDER SMART robot has a high-precision, low-maintenance axis system whose x-y portal offers a large working area of 19.7 x 15.8” (500 x 400 mm). Two separate z-axes ensure precise and nearly force-free positioning of the soldering tip, and by means of a rotary axis, each solder joint can be approached from any direction. For optimized throughput, the unit is equipped with two automatically locking drawers.

This system allows programming of single soldering, flow soldering with pre-soldered soldering tip at contact distances, as well as drag soldering (line soldering). The solder wire feed rate, pre-heat time, and soldering time can be individually and precisely adapted to the heat requirements of each solder joint.

Individually adjustable cleaning intervals with a rotating brush system ensure maximum availability and safe processes. For setup and process monitoring, the SOLDER SMART is equipped with a USB camera to provide the highest level of detail accuracy, as well as integrated LED elements for uniform illumination of the working area.

The SOLDER SMART is also designed for connection to an Ersa EASY ARM 1 fume extractor, which removes fumes and smoke in the direct vicinity of the soldering point. (Please note, EASY ARM 1 is sold separately.)

An ESD-safe housing guarantees safe operation and protects the compact table-top unit from contamination.

Installation and Training

Ersa recommends the optional onsite installation and training – please see part number 330P-EW. With this option, an Ersa engineer will come to your facility, set up the system, and train personnel on its usage.
