FLIR VP50 Advanced Non-Contact Voltage Detector & Worklight

The FLIR VP50 is a tough, CAT IV-rated Non-Contact Voltage Detector featuring a combination of alerts – tactile vibration, red LED alarms, a powerful LED flashlight and versatile voltage sensitivities. We engineered the FLIR VP50 to reliably detect voltages on the latest tamperproof outlets and electrical systems that are quickly becoming the construction standard. You have many choices in the marketplace when it comes to selecting a non-contact voltage (NCV) detector. Often referred to as a “voltage pen,” “test pen,” or “voltage stick,” the NCV detector has become an essential tool for first-pass detection of live wiring and active circuits at the job-site before work is performed. With the VP50 you can quickly and safely check for voltage prior to attaching a multimeter’s test leads to a device or outlet.

The VP50 Non-Contact Voltage Detector & Worklight, was designed to meet the high standards and innovation FLIR is known for. The rugged CAT IV-rated detector features a reinforced case and durable buttons to survive rough handling. With a brightly illuminated detector tip, voltage detection is easier in dark electrical cabinets or in concealed, hard to view areas. When voltage is detected, the user is alerted with a bright red flashing LED as well as a vibration alarm ensuring that the user is alerted even in noisy environments.

The built-in super-bright LED worklight comes in handy to illuminate poorly-lit work areas while testing. This built-in light not only reduces clutter in your toolbox, it adds confidence when performing visual inspections (for wear, pitting, dirt, corrosion and dust) and makes it easier to read faded labels and other markings, especially at unfamiliar job sites. For better testing accuracy, users can switch between two voltage ranges. The primary range is useful for all major industrial, commercial and residential testing. A second, lower voltage range detects down to 24 VAC. This low voltage range is useful for testing a wide array of low voltage systems including: HVAC thermostats and dampers, security, CCTV, heaters, safety relays, stacklights/indicating light systems, plant-wide audible signaling systems, and irrigation systems.
