Description
The General Tools RLD440 Refrigerant Leak Detector Digital is a durable, all in one refrigerant leak detector. RLD440 uses 3 LED UV lights to easily find leaks in any commercial refrigerant when charged with a fluorescent dye. RLD440 also detects the size of the leak using it’s propriety semiconductor sensor. General Tools RLD440 is designed with quadruple leak indication with UV light detection, beeping alarm, flashing LED, and digital readout, and features a sensitivity of 0.05 oz./year (1.4 g/year) to R-134a and 0.025 oz./year (0.7g/year) to R-22, which are best in class.
The General Tools Digital Refrigerant Leak Detector is a technologically advanced, dual mode instrument used in the maintenance of mobile and stationary air conditioners, refrigerators, chillers, and heat pumps. A user would first use the three UV light emitting diodes (LEDs) on the front of the instrument to detect and pinpoint any leaks of fluorescent dye injected into the system. Following this, the user would then use the proprietary semiconductor sensor at the end of the unit’s 17 in. long flexible-obedient probe to gauge and display the size of the leak. The long-life sensor is designed to sense all commercially available HFO, HC, HCFC and CFC refrigerants, including the more difficult to detect ozone-friendly HFC refrigerants as well as blends and newly approved replacements such as R-22 and R-1234yf.
