Hakko FX-805 – Ultra Heavy Duty (UHD) Soldering Station

The Hakko FX-805 ultra-heavy duty soldering station packs 400W of power, designed to handle difficult soldering of large mass components such as high current inductor coils, large transformers, shields, and difficult solder heat sinks. The station has new T37 390W tips and is backward compatible with T33 260W tips that have top-controlled temperatures and multiple shapes.

The FX-805 includes the same features as the previous model, including normal and power operating modes, up to six user-programmable preset temperatures, automatic shut-off for safety if the unit is left on, and process control lockout with password protection to ensure that only the appropriate soldering iron temperatures are being used and to prevent inadvertent changes to the system.

The FX-805 comes with the standard FX-8004 Soldering Handpiece. An optional FX-8005 Nitrogen Compatible Soldering Handpiece is also available (sold separately) and requires the use of nozzles that are specific to the tip shape being used.

The FX-8004 ultra heavy duty soldering iron contains a 390W ceramic heater and is compatible with T37 and T33 series tips. Please note, within the T33 series, Hakko offers two styles – standard and slim.

• T37 tips are designed to work with the FX-8004 Ultra Heavy-Duty Handpiece with a new 390W internal heater. These tips have a sensor system placed closer to the end of the tip to improve response
• T33 Standard Tips feature 260W composite ceramic heating elements. These heating elements have a top controlled temperature of 940 °F / 500 °C and high mass shapes, enabling you to solder some of the most challenging solder joints at only 750 °F / 400 °C and without preheating.
• The T33 Slim Tips are thinner tips that can be used for narrow spaces but maintains the same amount of heat as the standard tip.
