Pin and Pinless moisture meter, plus RH connector for ambient and concrete RH (optional RH probe required), E-14 inspector electrode measures 3/4 inch into the material, Dual depth pinless capabilities allows for measuring at 1/4 and 3/4 inch

  • Optional RH probes for ambient and concrete testing
  • The Ligno-VersaTec was designed for versatility, reliability and accuracy as well as sturdiness and ease of operation.
  • Microprocessor-based circuitry assures calibration stability and accuracy for the life-time of the meter.
  • Calibration is internally checked and adjusted before each reading in pin and pinless mode.
  • Measuring range depends on wood species settings.
  • Moisture readings above fiber saturation point 25-30% are less accurate.
  • Pinless meters can read lower moisture values in hardwood.
  • Measuring range is low enough to check kiln dried wood, hardwood floors, etc. Pinless mode allows lower readings in hardwoods.
  • Moisture range high enough to check green lumber (99%).
  • 150 Individual correction settings for domestic and tropical wood species, bamboo and drywall.

Inspector/Restoration Professional Kit

Ligno-VersaTec combines accurate and dependable buffer measuring technologies of Lignomat’s pin, pinless, and RH meters. Everybody needing a versatile, accurate meter will appreciate the multiple functions and the reliability of the Ligno-VersaTec.

With the Ligno-VersaTec you can choose the right measuring mode and the right accessories for the job on hand. It could be tracking moisture problems with a pin electrode or measuring humidity in a crawl space.

Floor installers can check a cupped floor using the dual-depth pinless mode. Pinless Search and Compare Mode are used when tracking moisture problems in walls, ceilings, and floors. Lumber Processing Mills use the meter to make sure QC requirements are followed.

Applications

Whenever pin and pinless mode are used side by side. To keep close tabs on wood moisture during production, flooring installations, inspections, and water damage repairs. The package V-2M includes all the features needed for a wood application.

Pin and Pinless Side by Side

Large areas can be scanned fast and easily. Selectable measuring depth of 1/4″ or 3/4″ allows for comparing moisture close to the surface and deeper down. Once a problem is detected, pin electrodes can be used for further investigations.

Non-invasive Meter for Concrete

Ligno-VersaTec measuring relative humidity and temperature with the RH BluePeg Sensor

Non-invasive Meter for Wood

Ligno-VersaTec measuring the moisture in concrete with embedded RH BluePeg Sensor

The instruments have proven to perform well in rough mill environments with day-to-day usage. One meter for all your moisture meter needs:

  • Fast scanning of wood and all flat surfaces of non-wood
  • Materials. Detection of different moisture levels in wood, drywall, concrete, etc.
  • Detailed depth measurements up to 7″ deep, where ever the probe can reach. Works in wood for core readings. Works in all non-wood materials to indicate where excess moisture is hiding.
  • RH BluePeg can be used as a measuring device for ambient relative humidity and temperature or placed in a measuring sleeve, which can be inserted into a predrilled hole in the testing area.
  • Operation is that easy! Without studying pages and pages of operation manuals: Depress SET Button to check settings. Use up or down buttons to correct settings.
  • Depress % Button for moisture readings. The instrument turns itself off automatically. At any time you can change from pin mode to scan mode by depressing the up or down button.
  • Professional Packages and In-Kiln Monitors are available for the Ligno-VersaTec please contact Customer Service for detailed quotes.

RH mode for In-situ Concrete Moisture Testing

Meter indicates RH, Temp, DPT, and GPP. The number 134 on the screen is an individual probe number to give the customer an easy way to identify RH BluePeg Probes especially if several probes are in use for testing concrete. Probe numbers rotate through 001-999.

The meter has a HOLD function, to use when the display is not visible during measurements, and use when scrolling through RH, T, GPP, and DPT to obtain correlating sets of values.

For the floor installer:

Throughout the installation process, a floor installer should use a moisture meter. First, when the floor is delivered, make sure the floor is dry. Next, before and after acclimation, make sure the floor is acclimated to the ambient conditions at the place of installation. It is best to mark selected sample boards and take readings throughout the acclimation process until the moisture content of the wood matches the relative humidity (See EMC chart below.) After the installation is finished and the customer is ready to sign off on the floor, the moisture condition of the floor should be documented. Select several moisture-sensitive areas. Take readings on both depth levels and note the readings with species setting, measuring depth and location where the readings were taken. Maybe even take a photo to pinpoint the location. If you ever have to go back to check out a complaint, you can measure the same areas again and compare them with the original readings. Keeping track of moisture conditions may in the end protect you from unwarranted claims and help find the source of the problem. The dual-depth readings may indicate if moisture was absorbed from the downside of the floor or from the up-side of the floor.

Capturing and analyzing rare anomalies in electric signals is a typical use case when debugging electronic systems. With an acquisition rate of up to 50 000 waveforms per second – more than 1000 times faster than conventional handheld oscilloscopes – the R&S®Scope Rider sees signals other scopes miss. Rare faults in signals can be reliably captured and analyzed.

In history mode, the instrument automatically stores up to 5000 waveforms in a separate history buffer. At any point in time, acquisition can be stopped and any waveform in the history buffer can be analyzed using the full oscilloscope functionality. One-time anomalies that would have been missed by a conventional handheld oscilloscope can now be analyzed in detail.

Obtaining Measurements

The RH in-situ probe measurement is regulated by the ASTM F2170-11 standard guidelines. Following the ASTM F2170-11 guidelines, the sleeves have to be placed in the concrete for 72 hrs and the sensors have to be acclimated before test results are valid and can be documented. If waiting times are cut short the resulting measurements could be too high or too low.

  • Connect RH BluePeg Probe to the meter via RH cable or RH Adaptor.
  • (RH meters: Ligno-Tec RH, Ligno-DuoTec BW or Ligno-VersaTec)
  • Press the READ button. RH, T, DP, GPP, and the sensor number appear on the left side of the display. The corresponding measured value appears to the right.
  • Press above or below keys to toggle between RH, T, GPP, and DP.

Set Sensor

  • Remove the blue cap and drop RH BluePeg into the sleeve.
  • Use the red cap to mark the sleeve with the sensor inside.

Remove Sensor

After removing the cable as described above, simply connect the cable again and pull the sensor out of the sleeve.

Remove Cable

The Inner cylinder is in place with one hand and pulls the end of the cable about 3/4” towards you.

This disconnects the sensor from the cable. Now you can remove the cable- end-cover and the sensor will stay in the sleeve.
