This item is a System 273 binocular stereo microscope with a dual arm roller bearing stand and a dimmable LED ring light. A 1.0x objective is included, however, other magnifications are available as optional items.

The ring light contains 40 LED bulbs with an output of 3600 foot candles at a 4.5″ working distance. It has a 6000K color temperature, 50000 hour lamp life and is operated with a 4-button inner and outer ring segment controller.

The heavy duty, dual arm roller bearing stand features a 17.5″ vertical and 22″ horizontal reach. It has a 10″ x 10″ base, weighs approximately 60 pounds, and the focus mount angles to 45° to permit additional viewing and inspection perspectives.

System 273 series

It features a zoom magnification of 0.7x to 4.5x, with a 1x objective, and 10x eyepieces, standard for all models. This provides a magnification of 7x to 45x, with a working distance of 118mm. Working distance refers to the amount of space between the item being viewed and the microscope’s objective – the larger this number, the more space technicians have to operate. This is especially important in electronics manufacturing, so that workers have ample room for their hands, as well as any tools being used.

To maximize versatility, LX Microscopes by UNITRON also offers a variety of optional eyepieces and objectives, which greatly expand the capability of the System 273. For example, when 10x eyepieces are paired with a 0.5x objective, the working distance is increased to nearly eight inches.

It also features click-stops on the zoom knob at 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 ensure repeatable magnification changes

Several packages available

The System 273 is available in packages with a variety of light sources and stands. In the chart below, all models with “RB” in the model number will come with a dual arm roller bearing stand. The others have an articulating arm or standard pole stand.

The dual arm roller bearing stand has a 17.5″ vertical and 22″ horizontal reach. It is extremely stable, coming in at 61 pounds and having a 10″x10″ base. Its focus mount angles to 45° to permit additional viewing and inspection perspectives.

ESD indicates models which have specially treated, static-dissipative surfaces.

VIP stands Variable Inclination Position. Eyepieces on these are adjustable between 0 and 30 degrees.
