The Metcal BVX-250 fume extraction system is a portable, two-station filtration system for the removal of workplace fumes, smoke, dust, and vapors.

Metcal offers two versions of its BVX-250. Both include the fume extractor, pre-filter, HEPA 13/gas filter, and remote power switch, however, only one includes arms.

The BVX-250 is supplied with a pre-filter and a main filter. The main filter is a HEPA/gas combination filter consisting of a HEPA 13 filter (99.97% efficiency at 0.3 microns) and an activated carbon filter. This model is designed for applications including fumes from soldering irons, solder pots, and related activities.

An optional deep bed gas main filter (activated carbon) is also available. This is designed for applications such as cleaning with solvents, conformal coating, and more.

BVX-250 operational status is indicated on a large, easy-to-see LED STATUS RING. Users will immediately know if the unit is on, idle, or requires a filter change.

• GREEN: System is on and extracting smoke & fumes
• BLUE: System is on, but in idle mode and not extracting
• AMBER: The pre-filter needs to be changed or is not installed correctly
• RED: The main filter needs to be changed or is not installed correctly

The BVX-250 features a 360-degree rotating exhaust diverter. The filtered air coming from the unit can be easily exhausted in any direction. Simply rotate the exhaust diverter to aim the air as desired for maximum operator comfort.

For maximum flexibility, the BVX-250 offers three power settings. Noise output at medium power is only 50 dBA.

• High speed – when suction performance is the top priority, maximum smoke removal and fume extraction
• Medium speed – for applications where quieter equipment is needed, paired with high suction performance
• Low speed – for use in quiet rooms or small areas
