Isopropyl Alcohol for Cleaning Electronics and Flux Removal
The MG Chemicals 824-450G is a versatile cleaning product which can be used for a variety of applications. Made of 99.95% pure anhydrous alcohol (IPA), it is safe on plastics, has a moderate evaporation rate, and is non-corrosive.
The 824-450G is ideal for removing grease, oil, ink, rosin flux residue, organic contaminants, and more.
Applications include:
Cleaning de-energized electronics components and equipment
- Flux Removal
- Connectors and contacts
- Printed circuit boards
- Switches and Relays
- Semi-conductors
- Magnetic heads
- Lasers lenses in optical disc drives
- Stencils
- Should not be used on computer monitors, tablets or specialty-coated devices
Effective flux remover
The 824-450G can be used as a very effective flux remover. The pictures below are before and after shots of a circuit – first, after it was soldered, then after it was cleaned using the 824-450G. The flux residue is gone and was very easy to remove.
