Two-Stage Rotary Vane Pump (Cat # 221SDMLAM), 21 m3/h
The Pfeiffer Pascal 2021 (221SDMLAM) is a two-stage rotary vane pump with a single-phase motor. Oil seal rotary vane pumps are used in all vacuum technology applications. The Pascal 2021 is a standard pump ideal for several non-corrosive applications, including the manufacture of light bulbs, production of TV tubes, manufacture of electronic tubes, metallurgy, centrifuges and more.
Two-stage rotary vane pump
To improve the backing pressure and flow rate at low pressure, two stages are connected in series. The second is similar to the first both structurally and operationally. The gases pulled in by the first (low pressure) stage are transferred to the second (high pressure) stage and discharged through the high pressure (HP) valve. These rotary vane pumps are the best choice for applications requiring an ultimate vacuum as low as 2 · 10-3 hPa (1.5 · 10-3 Torr).
Pascal series design
The inlet and exhaust end fittings are PNEUROP ISO-KF standardized. They are fitted vertically on the pump at delivery but can be positioned on the horizontal openings if required by operating conditions.
The main replacement parts are interchangeable; This enables easier disassembly/assembly operations and replacement without changing the pump’s performance.

Applications
Vacuum technology plays a key role in the manufacture of many everyday products and in many technical research sectors. The rotary vane pump is of decisive importance for reliable vacuum generation.
Pumps of the Pascal series with a pumping speed between 5 and 22 m3/h are used in the most demanding applications in industry, analytics and research & development. The SD version is ideal for all vacuum applications with non-corrosive gases in the medium vacuum range.
- Manufacture of light bulbs
- Production of TV tubes
- Manufacture of electronic tubes
- Metallurgy
- Centrifuges and more
For all applications in the low and medium vacuum range
Pfeiffer Vacuum rotary vane pumps have been some of the most popular pumps for generating low and medium vacuum for many years now. They are sturdy and have a long life, whether they are used as backing pumps to generate the backing pressure called for by turbopumps, or as a single standalone pump. Rotary vane pumps belong to the family of displacement pumps and convey a virtually steady low-pulsation suction volume flow, irrespective of the type of gas used. They work on the principle of an eccentrically supported rotor revolving in housing and have two or more movable vanes. Every Pfeiffer Vacuum rotary vane pump is oil lubricated. Special vacuum oils, also known as operating fluids, are responsible for insulating and lubricating components, resulting in very low final pressures. The oil lubrication also ensures an extremely long lifetime, even in continuous operation.
