Description
Weller 2400 MagicSense Cutter
The Weller Series 2400 MagicSense is a range of medium-sized precision cutters that combine robustness, visibility, and accessibility. The series offers a large variety of head shapes for precision work in hard-to-reach areas. The optimized ergonomic shape of the Series 2400 MagicSense prevents hand fatigue. These cutters are manufactured with improved induction-hardened cutting edges up to 64–65 HRc, ensuring an extremely long service life. The cutting edges are made from special tool steel. The precision cutters have a non-reflective surface, are ESD-safe, and can be resharpened.

Head Type
- Oval Head: This is the most widely used head shape, as it is robust and offers the highest cutting capacity for its size.
- Tapered Head: The jaws of the cutter have straight edges and taper to a point, allowing access to difficult-to-reach areas. However, this head shape reduces the cutting capacity compared to the same size oval head cutter.
- Angled Wide/Narrow Head: This head shape provides precise cuts at different working angles.
- Straight Long Relieved Head: This head shape is suitable for both horizontal and vertical cuts, and the long tips facilitate cutting in hard-to-reach areas.
Cut Style
- Semi-Flush: This cut leaves a pyramidal tip at the end of the wire and is suitable for standard jobs where the final shape is not critical. Cutters with this cut can handle both soft copper wires and very hard wires, such as stainless steel.
- Flush: This cut leaves a much smaller tip at the end of the wire than the semi-flush cut, without reducing the cutting capacity. The cutting edges are finer than on semi-flush cutters, reducing the effort exerted when cutting and the load on the component. Flush wire ends reduce the effort needed to fit components on printed-circuit boards. Erem guarantees precise cutting even after frequent use.
- Super Full Flush: Only Erem offers this type of cut, which provides absolutely flush wire ends with no need for rework. Cutters with this cut are absolutely precision-ground and sharpened, with low effort exerted when cutting and a low load on the component caused by the cut. Soldering tags in soldering-bath procedures are prevented. Cutters of this type are used in microelectronics, space travel, or medical technology, and are suitable for soft wires.
