SCI (Slaughter) 448 – 4-in-1 tester with 500VA AC Hipot, DC Hipot, Insulation Resistance and Ground Bond Testing

The SCI (Slaugher) 448 is a 4-in-1 tester with 500VA AC Hipot, DC Hipot, Insulation Resistance and Ground Bond testing capabilities. The 448 is capable of a 500VA AC Hipot output to comply with 100mA leakage current test compliance requirements. This tester features a simple design and easy-to-use interface, reducing setup time and increasing production-line throughput for your application. The 448 is equipped with multiple memories and an optional USB port for remote BUS communication so you can quickly perform tests on a variety of DUTs from the front panel or with a PC. Add to user safety by equipping your tester with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) via the built-in safety interlock.

Front panel controls

- Reset button – momentary contact switch used to reset the tester
- Test button – momentary contact switch used to start a test
- LCD display – main readout for the operator and programmer of the test settings and test results
- High voltage output jack – for connection of the detachable HV test lead or the adapter box HV connector
- Power switch
- Rotary knob – used to advance forward/backward through the setup menus and to setup system and test parameters
- High voltage arrow (LED indicator) – flashes to warn high voltage is present
- Current output terminal – used to attach the high current output lead, adapter box high current lead or test fixture high current lead to the instrument. This connection provides the output current for the ground bond
- Return terminal – used to attach the return test lead, adapter box return lead or test fixture return lead to the instrument. This connection provides the return current path
Rear panel controls

- High voltage output jack – For connection of the detachable HV test lead or the HV adapter box
- Return terminal – Used to attach the return test lead, adapter box return lead or test fixture return lead to the instrument. This connection provides the return current path.
- Current output terminal – Used to attach the high current output lead, adapter box high current lead, or test fixture high current lead to the instrument. This connection provides the output current for the ground bond.
- High voltage arrow (LED indicator) – Flashes to warn the operator that high voltage is present at the high voltage output terminal
- Calibration enable key – To enter the calibration mode, press this key while the tester is being powered on.
- USB connector – USB port for serial communication. Refer to Remote Bus Interface section page 50 in manual
- Remote output – 9 pin D subminiature female connector for monitoring PASS, FAIL, and PROCESSING output relay signals.
- Remote input – 9 pin D subminiature male connector for remote control of test, reset, and interlock functions as well as remote memory tests selection.

- Input power receptacle – Standard IEC 320 connector for connection to a standard NEMA style line power mains cord
