Advanced Thermal Imager with 464 x 348 Resolution, Dual FOV 14/24 Lens
The FLIR Exx Series of thermal imagers feature FLIR’s MSX technology and are packed with the features needed to find hot spots, detect early signs of building deficiencies, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, and prevent problems before they cause serious damage. The Exx-Series are available in several resolutions:
- E54 – 320 x 240
- E76 – 320 x 240
- E86 – 464 x 348
- E96 – 640 x 480
The FLIR E86 offers complete coverage of near and distant targets through a range of lens options. The E86 DFOV 14 + 24 is equipped with a FLIR FlexView dual field of view lens to instantly switch from wide area to telephoto scanning with the push of a button. The E86 includes laser-assisted autofocus and 3 area measurement boxes. The 464 × 348-pixel thermal camera has an expanded temperature measurement range for easier detection of hot spots and hidden anomalies on electrical and mechanical assets. FLIR imaging technology such as UltraMax and MSX ensure crisp, vibrant thermal images. The onboard FLIR Inspection Route runs pre-planned routes to help you stay organized when surveying large or multiple locations. FLIR Ignite provides automatic uploading of E86 images directly from the camera to the cloud for easy, secure storage and sharing.
One Lens – Two Fields of View
With FLIR’S FlexView Dual field of view lens you won’t have to change your lens in the field. With the push of a button instantly switch from a 24-degree wide view for scene context to a 14-degree telephoto for accurate temperature measurement and thorough thermal inspection.

FLIR AutoCal Lenses
The FLIR E76, E86, and E96 cameras are compatible with all FLIR’s interchangeable AutoCal lenses. The camera automatically recognizes when a new lens is attached and launches a wizard to begin auto-calibrating the camera with the lens – no need to send the camera in for service. This helps ensure the camera always produces high-quality images and precise thermal measurements.

What lens do you need?
14°, 29mm lens: this telephoto lens has a narrow field of view for precise focus and crisp imaging of distant targets.
24°, 17mm lens: often considered the standard lens, the 24° x 18° field of view allows users to remain at a safe distance from energized equipment while still obtaining a crisp focus on smaller targets.
42°, 10mm lens: this wide-angle lens captures the largest field of view for imaging buildings, roofs, or other areas where it’s important to gather the most information in a single image.
FLIR Ignite for Exx-Series
Improve your team’s efficiency and capabilities with the FLIR Ignite cloud solution. Directly upload, organize, and share images from your Wi-Fi-connected FLIR Exx-Series camera. Keep your data safe in one place and easily accessible from any device.
The Exx series and FLIR Thermal Studio Pro
Exx-Series cameras come with FLIR’s exclusive Inspection Route option already enabled. Combined with FLIR reporting, plug-in, and cloud options, this is thermal imaging logistics at its best.
Designed for thermographers who regularly inspect large numbers of objects over the course of a day, FLIR Inspection Route guides the user along a pre-defined route of inspection points so they can collect images and data in a structured manner.
The route begins in FLIR Thermal Studio Pro software, where users build their plan using the Route Creator plugin. They can include as many inspection targets as needed and organize them for maximum efficiency. Once they export the completed route to the Exx camera, they’re ready to begin the day.
The predefined route guides the user’s on-site movement to each inspection asset, automatically collecting and organizing saved images for a seamless import into FLIR Thermal Studio Pro. By ensuring that nothing is missed and that all inspection results are organized from the start, the suite of FLIR inspection software speeds up inspections, improves organization, and simplifies reporting.
