TPI 183 Triple Display Digital Multi-Meter with Capacitance

The TPI 183 Triple dsplay digital multi-mete (also known as a multitester) is a true RMS (root mean square), auto- and manual-ranging meter that measures current, voltage, frequency, capacitance, and resistance, and performs continuity and diode tests in electrical applications. An audible continuity sensor confirms a circuit conducts electricity, and a diode test detects proper functioning of a circuit’s diodes. The meter provides statistical information such as minimum, maximum, compare, and relative mode. The relative mode stores a reading in memory to use as a zero point for subsequent readings so that multiple readings can be compared as a percentage of the stored reading, and is used for component checking. Compare mode compares the measured values with a stored value, and is used for component matching. Temperatures can be measured using a K-type thermocouple (not included). The data hold feature holds up to two readings on the display for recording. Auto power-off turns the meter off after 30 minutes of non-use to preserve battery life. The RS-232 output transfer data to a computer while measurements are being taken. A molded rubber boot protects the meter against damage from falls, impacts, and abrasion, and a tilt stand provides viewing for one-handed operation.

The 183 also features:

• REC – Records Min/Max and Average readings during specified measurement intervals. Time reference can also be displayed to determine when the values were recorded.
• COMP – Compare actual reading to preset HI and LOW values for Pass/Fail testing of components.
• HOLD – Two-hold system automatically holds the previous stable reading when a new one is obtained.
